Singer Elina Chauhan, who tied the knot with her boyfriend Bishnu Sapkota on Baisakh 5 (April 17), has decided to put a full stop to her marital relationship.
According to Prakash Subedi, the host of the Rajatpat program, Elina has already initiated the legal process for divorce. In the latest episode of Rajatpat, aired last evening, Subedi claimed that Elina is proceeding with the divorce without making any financial claims against Bishnu. He further stated that their separation is expected to be finalized within a month.
Reports also suggest that Bishnu has filed a power of attorney to proceed with the legal process.
Elina, a popular singer, had moved to Australia with Bishnu shortly after their wedding. However, she later returned to Nepal, alleging that she had been a victim of domestic violence in Australia. Following her return, she spent some time at an Osho center.
Two weeks ago, while traveling to Pokhara, Elina shared her personal struggles with another female singer. This singer later posted about the issue on social media without mentioning Elina’s name. The matter gained public attention when Prakash Subedi broadcasted the details with evidence on his show, confirming the rift in Elina and Bishnu’s marriage.
