Galyang, Syangja –: The newly constructed building of Galyang City Hospital in Galyang Municipality, Syangja, was officially inaugurated today. The project was completed with financial assistance from the Government of India, totaling NPR 40.13 million, under the ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation’ framework. The inauguration was attended by Shri Avinash Kumar Singh, First Secretary of the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, Mr. Shree Prasad GT, Chief of the District Coordination Committee in Syangja, and Mr. Guru Prasad Bhattarai, Mayor of Galyang Municipality. The event brought together political representatives, government officials, social workers, and hospital staff members.
Funded as a High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP), this initiative involved constructing a fully equipped hospital building aimed at enhancing healthcare services in the region. It was implemented by the District Coordination Committee, Syangja, under a collaborative agreement between the governments of India and Nepal. Leaders present expressed appreciation for India’s role in supporting Nepal’s development, particularly in sectors critical to social welfare.
Galyang Community Hospital, initially established in 2010 in a rented space, has now been rebranded as Galyang City Hospital and is financially supported by Galyang Municipality. Serving residents from Syangja and surrounding districts such as Palpa, Parbat, and Gulmi, the upgraded facility now has advanced medical infrastructure, promising quality healthcare to the local population.
The collaborative venture highlights the multifaceted cooperation between Nepal and India. Through such projects, India continues to strengthen its developmental support to Nepal, improving infrastructure and resources in key areas that benefit the Nepali people.
