Janakpurdham, 8th (Nepalese Calendar) Provincial secretaries transferred from other provinces became highly emotional at an event today, where Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh was also present. The Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers of Madhesh Province organized a farewell ceremony for the secretaries, during which they expressed their gratitude, saying they experienced the warmth, support, and affection of family members during their time in Madhesh.
In unison, they said, “There is a misconception among civil servants that working in Madhesh is challenging. However, contrary to that belief, we received more cooperation and encouragement from the political leadership and fellow employees than expected while working in the provincial government.” They shared a collective experience that the indomitable desire to work together in groups and achieve positive and meaningful results has motivated both the political leadership and employees in Madhesh.
For the first time in seven years, the Madhesh Provincial Government organized a farewell ceremony after the secretaries’ transfer.
Subash Chandra Shivakoti, who was transferred from the Ministry of Finance to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, expressed satisfaction in being able to create a structured and effective work plan for the ministry under the guidance of political leadership while working in Madhesh. He mentioned that the support from the Chief Minister and ministers in overcoming any difficulties was inspiring and motivating, making his stay in Madhesh memorable.
He said, “The experience here will be significant for my professional life as well.”
Birendra Kumar Yadav, who was transferred from the Provincial Secretary of the Ministry of Home, Communication, and Law to the Planning Commission, said this was the first time employees transferred to Madhesh had received such a farewell. He hoped that this tradition and culture of farewelling would continue. He expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh, acknowledging that even though he had worked in the province before, it was the first time he received such an honorable farewell.
Sharan Kumar Pandey, transferred from the Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture, and Cooperatives to the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers in Koshi Province, mentioned that the good practices and learnings from his time working in Madhesh would be useful in his new position. He said, “The culture of coordination and cooperation in Madhesh Province provides an environment conducive to work for incoming employees.” In a program chaired by Loknath Paudyal, the Chief Secretary of Madhesh Province, Jay Kumar Ghimire, who had recently arrived at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers from the Ministry of Home Affairs, was welcomed.
